Call Barging
Call Barging is the ability to join a call that is being monitored (listened to) with Call Monitoring.
How It Works
A supervisor actively monitoring a call can press a special code on their dial pad to join a call when necessary and establish a conference call between themselves and the other parties.
Practical Uses
- When training a new employee on the phone, a supervisor can "barge in" on the call and take it over if necessary.
- Useful for de-escalating a call that appears to be taking a turn for the worse or for swooping in and saving a sale.
