What is Voice over IP (VOIP)?Voice over IP is the ability to use your Internet connection to make and receive telephone calls.
Does Amp Telecom work if my Internet or electricity/power goes down?Yes. Amp Telecom continues taking calls for your organization even if calls cannot reach your office. As a cloud solution, all calls are still handled by Amp Telecom and calls can be diverted to voicemail or other telephone numbers from the user portal.
If we lose power or Internet service, can we continue making outbound calls?Calls cannot be made without Internet service. However, you will not lose inbound calls. Inbound calls will still be handled and routed to voicemail or forwarded to destinations of your choice even through inbound calls cannot reach your office.
Does your service include a soft-phone?Amp Telecom does not require any proprietary software and works perfectly with most free and commercial soft-phones. Our favorite soft-phones are X-Lite for computers and Zoiper for your smartphone (iPhone & Android).
Is the included Grandstream GXP1610 phone good/bad?The Grandstream GXP1610 is one of the best sounding and most reliable phones available for Voice over IP. ItÕs simple to use and a perfect desk phone for most applications.

Are all calls to the U.S. included in the plan?No, just calls to telephone numbers in the 48 contiguous U.S. states are included. Currently, we are working on a way to include calls to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and Canada at no additional charge. However, the high costs in certain regions within those Mexico, Canada, etc., are difficult to include at the low rate we charge for service.

Do you provide toll-free/1-800 numbers?Yes. There is no extra cost to have a toll-free telephone number. However, incoming calls to your toll-free number will incur 3_ cents per minute to your monthly bill. Calls from payphones are blocked.
Why are payphones blocked from calling toll-free numbers?Payphone owners charge an expensive premium per call to the owner of the toll-free number called. ItÕs been our experience that those types of calls get very expensive in a short amount of time and in an effort to protect our clients from those charges, we simply block calls from payphones to toll-free numbers owned by our clients.
